Privacy policy
Updated 26 October 2026. Slowlight is made by Coded Realities ("we").
The short version
No account, no name, no email, no ads. What you do in Slowlight stays on your phone, except anonymous usage counts that help us decide what to build. They can’t identify you, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
What stays on your phone
Your answers during setup (which groups and feelings fit you, how long you usually have, your reminder time), the sessions you’ve played and how you felt before and after, and your settings. They’re stored only on your device. If you use Android’s backup, Google may back them up with your other app data.
What we receive: anonymous usage counts
The app sends small batches of events to our server, hosted by Cloudflare:
- a random identifier made when you install the app (it isn’t linked to you, your account or your device’s own identifiers, and a reinstall makes a new one);
- what happened: screens opened, sessions viewed, started and finished and for how long, the one-tap "how do you feel" answers, setup answers as group names (for example "students"), plan screens viewed, plans chosen and bought (the plan, its price and currency), reminders set (the hour), searches (only how many letters were typed, never the words);
- the app and Android version, the kind of device (phone, tablet or foldable) and a rough memory size (low, mid or high);
- your country, which Cloudflare works out from the connection. We never store your IP address.
We use these only to understand and improve Slowlight: which sessions help, where people get stuck, whether prices work in each country. We don’t sell them, share them with advertisers, or combine them with other data. We keep which days an install was active for 120 days, each install’s summary for 13 months after it was last used, and daily totals with no identifier for 2 years.
This website
When you open a page here we add one to a daily count of that page, together with where the visit came from (for example Pinterest or a search engine), the kind of device (Android, iPhone or computer) and the country. We do the same when you play a session’s opening or tap through to Google Play. There are no cookies, no advertising or tracking scripts, and no identifier; your browser remembers where you came from only until you close the tab. The day and night edition you choose is kept in your browser and never sent. Daily website counts are kept for 2 years.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details. The app receives a confirmation from Google Play that you have a plan.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your phone. Nothing about them is sent anywhere except the counts above (that a reminder was shown or opened).
Your choices
- Delete what we have: in the app, tap You › Help › Delete my data. It writes us an email with this phone’s anonymous id (or email support@codedrealities.com yourself), and we’ll delete everything linked to it.
- Uninstalling removes everything on your phone.
Children
Slowlight isn’t directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect anything from them.
